All food are freshly bought and prepared in camp by our staff.
Early in the morning the hunt starts off with a light breakfast which is served with coffee and fruit juice. After the morning hunt, brunch is served and then you can take the open spaces and hunt again. Sometimes lunch is served in the field when hunting.
A three course meal is served after the day’s hunt. During the day coolers are provided with light snacks, water, soda and fruits. Food are freshly prepared for every meal and you will be able to enjoy some of the meat of your hunt.
South Africa is one of the leaders in the world with our top quality wines, and you can enjoy some of these after a days hunt, during dessert and afterwards around the fire pit.

Hunting (Tracking, Shot placement)

Hunting conditions in our areas are very much the same as in the southern part of Texas.
The best practical time for hunting in this area is between April and September when day’s are good and nights are cool. The visibility then are much better and animals are spotted easier.
Hunting is done the way you like it walk-and–stalk,from blinds and vehicles. We at kuche Safaris cater for rifle- bow- and black powder hunters. We also undertake greenhunts (on request). At Kuche Safaris we hunt on foot ,but use opportunities on trophy animals as they arise.Don't be sorry....
The best time for archers are from June to end September just before the normal rain starts. Blinds are used for archers with good successes. We also do hunts on a required basis in Mozambique and Botswana, this is arranged on your personal request.
Kuche Safaris make use of privately owned concessions and therefore can offer you a wide variety of game and good trophies. Research have shown that there are now more animals in this area than 50 years ago because of this system.
The Ellisras/Lephalale area is one of the most popular hunting areas in South Africa because of the high population and quality of throphy animals.Other areas may offer you a cheaper hunt but the quality of the throphy might not be on the same standard.
On big 5 the law requires a minimum calibre of .375 . When out hunting it will be you, your Professional Hunter, Tracker and the wild African nature. You will be surrounded with a big variety of trees, birds, grass and animals.
This area offers 28 different species of animals which can be hunted. While you hunt for one species you will encounter others as well.
Because hunting is a traditional sport, we at Kuche Safaris love it when traditions are carried over and enjoy it when fathers hunt with their children, that is the only way to ensure that this sport will survive.Contact me for a special father/son/daughter quotation.
Come and enjoy the magic of African hunting – the art of tracking by our experienced trackers. It is magic how they can identify the specific track that you are looking for between hundreds of others and then find the right animal a distance away.
On small to meduim sized animals a 7mm - .300 calibre would be big enough and on bigger animals from .300 upwords. On our price list we have a guideline to help you to decide. This is what we recommend, not the Alfa and Omega and it may differ, for example a Kudu can be shot with a 7mm and an Impala with a .375.Remember it is all about shot placement and the damage to the organs.Shotplacement is the single most important part of hunting African animals.
A typical hunting day
Your typical hunting day would be to get out of bed at +/- 05:00 in the morning, have a light breakfast and after that go out to your hunting area.
You would normally come back to camp for a brunch at about 11:00 or have brunch in the field. The rest of the time you can relax as the animals normally are bedded down until the afternoon.
At +/- 15:00 pm you would go back hunting for the rest of the day until dark.
When your trophy is hunted and killed you would go back to camp so that the trophy could be skinned and taken care of.Your day then be adjusted accordingly.
Enjoy your hunt...

We would advice clients not to take flights via Europe but rather to fly over DAKAR to South Africa. It happened too many times to clients where their rifles got lost or damadged in Europe.
